Many Virginia Vital records Offices can provide certified copies of marriage certificates for marriages that occurred within the last 100 years, but the dates vary. The state of Division Vital Records holds records dating from January of 1853 to present day. Certified copies of vital records are not available to everyone.

Both parties must appear before the Clerk to obtain a license. You may obtain a license at any Circuit Court Clerk's Office in the State of Virginia, as there are no residency requirements.
